So many people I know live in fear (and hate, for that matter) of Jesus and the implications of a life lived in submission to him. No one likes to give up their sinful pleasures if they don’t have to, and the world tells them just that. You don’t have to give up your many ways, your lustful passions and envious desires, and unforgiving thoughts…You don’t need this Jesus character, and you know, you don’t want that guy telling you what you can and can’t do…
It’s been a sweet realization this week, to know that he never took anything while he gave us everything. And now he holds us until he meets us on the other side.
