More family and friends

The Brookses visit Mount St. Helens (the mountain's washed out in the background. Even though it's 1500 feet shorter, it's still huge!)
My dad and brother came and stayed with us for a few days just before my birthday. It was great being able to show them around our town, let them see where we work, and to also go exploring a few new places with them. We even took a short drive up to Mount St. Helens.
Last week, Ian came back to Portland for a day and we spent a little more time just hanging out in town. It’s great when friends and family stop by. We don’t know how much we miss people until we realize there’s no more scheduled visits, and we’re kind of up here all alone. Ian’s spur-of-the-moment visit was great because it wasn’t in our plans, yet there we were–together once again.
Yesterday, Cort and I took a drive to see our friend, Megan’s, wedding. Megan was Cortnie’s roommate in Coarsegold for a while back in Camp Oakhurst days. She was a bridesmaid at our wedding, and it was so good to see her in a white gown of her own. Congrats, Megan & Iassac!
On our trip home from the wedding, we actually got pulled over by a Washington State trooper for driving a little fast down a country road near the town of Kalama. When the officer heard that we were just looking for the High School where they shot the parking lot scene in the movie Twilight, he just chuckled and let us go with a warning. Apparently, the state police have a soft spot for those movies, too. : )
